Here are the top North Texas playoff games of the second week.
We are 4 to Watch. Each week, we will break down the top four high school football games in DFW.
There are many intriguing matchups in the second week of the playoffs.
Frisco Reedy (11-0) vs. Lancaster (9-2)
Frisco Reedy will be taking on Lancaster in the 5A Division 1 bracket.
The game will begin at 7:00 PM Friday night at Irving’s Ellis Stadium.
FOX 4 will also be present. However, those two losses were to powerhouse teams Denton Guyer, Longview, and Longview.
Lancaster has a win over South Oak Cliff, the defending champ.
Denton Guyer (11-0), vs. Highland Park (1-0)
Denton Guyer vs Highland Park is game 2. Both teams are unbeaten at 6A Division II.
Kickoff will take place at 7 p.m. Friday at The Star
Highland Park is seeking its first 6A state title.
After 2015, the Fighting Scots moved from 6A to 5A and won three consecutive state championships.
Guyer hopes to complete the deal following the final four appearances in each of the previous two seasons.
Jackson Arnold, the Oklahoma pledge to the Wildcats, is a great quarterback.
QB Brennar Storer from Western Michigan will be joining Arnold Friday night.
Lewisville (10-1) vs. Arlington Martin (10-1)
Game 3 will take place in 6A, Division I between and Lewisville vs. Arlington Martin.
The kickoff is at 7 p.m. at SMU’s Ford Stadium. Both teams are at 10-1.
It can be tedious to listen to coaches talk about the “all three phases” of the game. But Martin’s experiences in each phase is fascinating.
The Warriors have scored 10 touchdowns in special teams and defense over their eight previous games.
Lewisville, on the other hand, is fresh off its elimination of the Allen Eagles in its playoff debut.
Ethan Terrell, Quarterback, ran for 164 yards with 4 touchdowns during that win.
This match has a lot of history. The teams met in Round 2, last fall’s playoffs. Lewisville won 35-18.
Anna (11-0) vs. Stephenville (9-2)
Stephenville, the 9-2 state champions, will be facing the undefeated Anna Coyotes.
The kickoff is at 7 p.m. at Midlothian ISD Stadium.
Stephenville isn’t undefeated, but the defending champs were without their star quarterback Ryder Lambert for most of the year. But he’s back now.
Evan Bullock, a Louisiana Tech pledge and Anna’s quarterback will attempt to bring the Coyotes closer to their first state title.
